DFW transport between terminals
It's been ages since I've been through DFW and I have a connecting flight there next week. Scheduled to arrive in middle of Terminal C and depart from middle of Terminal A with 1:10 scheduled layover time.
Looks like from the map on DFW website that there are 3 options to get from one terminal to other--train, TrAAin, and a walkway?
I remember the train from years ago and I seem to remember it as slow. I don't mind walking if that is possible (I hate Denver where you have to take the train). What is the AA train?
Thanks for the clarification.

DFW is home base to American Airlines (AKA the sty in the sky) and the "TrAAin" is their shuttle tram.
DFW is huge and walking bewtween terminals is not practical. In addition to the fact that it has one of the highest number of weather delay rates in the country becasue of its location, it is a sprawled-out, poorly planned airport.

Obviously you don't like DFW--I don't know of any airport I particularly like. But, I still have to change planes there.
So walking is too far--I regularly walk from one concourse to another at ATL, PHX, etc. if I have the time. I'll assume that middle of one concourse to another at DFW is longer?.
TrAAin is AA's shuttle tram--is it better than the train? Slower?
Which option works the best for you regular DFW transfers?

kay, the way DFW is set up, i don't think you really can walk between terminals _ no sidewalks and the terminals are quite far apart. You catch the tram _ a little subway-like car without a driver _ downstairs and if it is running correctly, it's fairly prompt. The bus seems to run a little less frequently. But then, I live here, so I've only used the two systems to get to remote parking.

Kay,
I'm not a frequent flier through DFW but the couple times i've flown in, i've been faced with the same connection issue as you. Last time I took the AA train from Terminal C to Terminal A on an hour long stopover and thought it was quick and efficient. Just waited about 5 minutes for the tram, hopped on and was at my destination with enough time to have a quick meal. No problems whatsoever. Sorry, can't tell you whether it's faster than the train, but I would not hesitate using the AA tram again. Hoope this helps!

Take the tram as the terminals are way too far to walk and it has been hitting 100 degrees this week.
Dear DFWsux: DFW was 29th in delays and, since it is the 2nd busiest airport in the US, I think that is quite good. Yes, it is sprawled out but for a reason--more flights, safer. The businesses in the terminals are improving and Texans are friendly.

Found my choices were to walk or take the TrAAin. Terminals A, B, and C are connected by enclosed walkways with moving sidewalks. A sign (not very obvious) showed where the TrAAin entrances were and whether it would be faster to walk or ride to different parts of the terminals. Because my flight arrived early, I decided to explore both, then walked to get some exercise--took me 10-15 minutes from mid concourse to mid concourse.
Then they changed our departure gate to the other concourse, so everyone had to go back to C. I walked again and people who got on the TrAAin arrived at the new gate about the same time as I did.
