Denton, Texas!

I'm going back to Denton! Many years ago, I graduated from Denton High, and did my undergraduate work at UNT(then, NTSU...does that date me?) Now, I'm going back to see the old gang! I haven't been in a whole lot of years, and am hoping you can suggest a hotel for me. Certainly nothing fancy, but perhaps something where I could have friends to my room and not have to sit on the bed. The choices are limited, and I am looking, but am interested in your suggestions.

As always, thanks!

You might begin by checking out hotels at tripadvisor.com. I noticed that the Hampton Inn had good reviews. I've never stayed a hotel in Denton but have always had good luck with Hamptons. If you want to go further down I35 to the Vista Ridge/ Lewisville area you'll find more choices.

We have a new hotel, Homestead Suities. My friends are staying there while their house is being repainted and refloored. They have a small kitchen area . . . but the best is the rate includes breakfast and dinner.

Now, admittedly, she said dinner was more of a snacky affair but they did have chicken fingers, and enough substantial items to make a dinner for anyone other than big eaters.

I also went to NTSU (1961-64), now UNT . . .and I stayed. If you would like to email me, use this address . . . [email protected]. We might already know each other!

Hi Sandy! I was hoping you'd chime in. I was at NTSU from 1979 - 1983. I left in 1984 and haven't been back since. I'm very excited about seeing old friends!

Thank you for your email offer. I will contact you on my return from a trip I'm currently on. But, before, I go, I must ask you...were you perhaps in Paris during Spring 2004? I was, and I met a woman from Denton while riding on the metro. I know that Fodorites are everywhere...could it have possibly been you?

No, not me in Paris in 04 . . . I was in Belgium and the Netherlands in Mar 04, so close.

I forgot to mention the price of the Homestead, my friends are paying +/- $119.

iregeo, the Holiday Inn Express & Suites is brand new. Rooms look very nice (free breakfast/free internet/big rooms):

(Hey, they even have a jacuzzi suite! woohoo!)

Welcome back!

(maybe we should plan a mini-north Texas GTG?) When are you comin'?

Hi sarge, sandy. I've been gone for a while tending to a family emergency. Unfortunately, because of this issue, I must cancel this Denton trip. I plan to reschedule for sometime this summer. I'd love to have a GTG, big or small, then!

Hey Denton folks! The postponed trip is on again! I have a room booked at the Best Western Atrea Crown Chase. I don't really know where it's located, though. Is it "central" enough? I will have a car, so, it's probably not that big a deal. If you have recommendations for anything more "central," I'd love to hear! Oh, btw, I'm leaving tomorrow!

Thanks
