Del Mar, CA in June - need A/C?

We visited Del Mar last year in April, very cool no problem. But what about June? We're from Texas & very hot natured, therefore A/C is a way of life. We're looking for a private rental - either house or condo & all the ones that I have found and are reasonably priced don't have A/C.

Thanks for any help!!

Unless we have an unusual hot spell, I wouldn't see any need for a/c in June. In fact, we refer to the June weather as "June Gloom" because the marine layer (of clouds) doesn't burn off until mid-day at best, and it's back later in the afternoon.

I live 6 miles inland from Del Mar and I don't have a/c in my house. There's usually a couple of weeks in July/August where I wish that I did, but for the rest of the year, I wouldn't use it.

It doesn't start warming up in SD County until July at the earliest, and even in the hottest months it stays pretty cool on the coast. I think you will be fine in June. Have a great trip!

I also live inland in San Diego County and don't have air in my house. Sometimes I wish I did during August/September but June is fine. Often it is 10-15 cooler by the beach than where I live and the distance is about 10 miles.

Unless it is a very weird year you won't need any a/c. Lordy - if you are from Texas it will feel downright cold and probably wish you had heat instead.

kmpordagee, I live 6 miles or so inland from Del Mar too. Where are you?

Leekel, you're more likely to need heat, as Janis said.

I'm in the fine suburb of Rancho Penasquitos - PQ to us locals, lol. Where are you Barbara?

I wanted to mention to Leekel that the reason that you aren't finding places with a/c is because a lot of people along the coast don't have it because they don't need it. See you in June!

I'm in PQ too, at the north end of Black Mountain Road.

We don't have A/C either. Just open the windows facing west and the back door which faces east, and a ceiling fan. So far there's only been once when I wished for A/C, last Labor Day weekend when it 100+.
