Colorado - Photography
Hi! We hit Denver last year, photographed the Rocky Mountain National Park, Red Rocks, and most everything around Denver we could get our lenses on...We liked it so much, we're going back...
We're staying in Gunnison this trip to split our time to photograph the Great Sand Dunes & Grand Junction before returning to Denver after 4 days. Any suggestions on photo spots that are off the beaten path around Grand Junction/Great Sand Dunes that we might miss? We had to push our trip back to the first week of November due to work.
We're looking for beautiful landscapes or anything that makes for stunning photographs. I've been digging on the internet, but thought why not ask when you have a wealth of knowledge here. Thanks in advance for any help and happy travels, y'all!

Instead of taking Hwy 50 between Gunnison and Crested Butte, consider taking Hwy 65 the Grand Mesa Scenic Byway.

Curecanti National Recreation Area is downriver from the Black Canyon of the Gunnison and might have some decent photo ops. Sylvia called it Grand Canyon but it's actually Black Canyon, and it is definitely worth a stop.
I'm assuming you are going to Colorado National Monument between Grand Junction and Fruita already?
