chicago hotel this weekend...nothing..burbs?
Traveling with my 2 girls 8 and10 for girls weekend to chicago. will arrive at lunch time on Friday the 14th of october and stay at the Blackstone. We cant find a hotel room for the next 2 nights for under 300.00/night. My thought was explore downtown Friday and Saturday, then head out to the burbs on Sat night. Get a hotel with a pool and relax. Then do the science museum, maybe downtown and return the burbs Sunday night. Not sure which suburban area to head to...Midway(very cheap) but dont know area and seems easier to get to downtown from. Or Ohare..longer trainride...or other? Would love some advice...thanks

Yes, it is. I went onto Hotwire, and the Embassy Suites (through hotels.com) is $279 a night for 3 nights starting tomorrow (the 14th is today -- did you mean tomorrow)?

Do not stay by Midway. Will you have a car? If you must stay in the burbs, head north. Evanston is a nice town, not sure how much a hotel room would be there. Also, Skokie would be OK and there is a nice mall (Old Orchard) in case you want to shop (a lot of the same shops and you'll pay less taxes, free parking).

If it's the one in Evanston it is in a great location. A block from the train and maybe they have a shuttle to take you around. Evanston has a great downtown area that your girls will enjoy. It's also close to Northwestern which is a beautiful campus. Good luck!!
