charleston hotel choices
For our September Charleston SC visit I have narrowed it down to French Quarter Inn (king suite) or Andre Pinckney Inn - King room. Anyone stayed at either of these 2 or other suggestions that are current. Seems the threads are over 2 years old

The French Quarter Inn is nice and Tristan's Restaurant is one of the best in the city but Charleston Place is the best hotel in Charleston.
Charleston Place Hotel @ 205 Meeting St., Charleston, SC 843 - 722 - 4900.

Littleman drumming up business for the biggest hotel in town, funny.
Of your 2 choices the French Quarter is newer and well regarded. The Andrew Pinckney is "older" in a good manner and probably will give more of a historic feel. You'll get excellent service at either and are about 3 blocks apart.
Others comparable; Mills House, Planters Inn, Wentworth Mansion(personal fave- restaurant superb)

We stayed for 3 nights last October at the French Quarter Inn.
I could not have been happier with our choice. The standard King room is spacious and well appointed. Loved all of the extra little touches provided by the hotel. If the room is in your price range I would highly recommend the FQI.

So did we and believe me it is not a run-of-the-mill Best Western. It is extremely well located and the staff could not be nicer or more accommodating. The little extras of evening snacks and late night cookies are nice touches. I reviewed the hotel on Trip Advisor if you'd like more details.

Isle of Palms is a long 25 minutes, in my opinion. Either stay at the beach (which it is) or stay IN Charleston or Mt. Pleasant (across the bridge).
As for Littleman--hmmm. Name is great. I'd trust Suewoo about Charleston in a heartbeat. I've seen just about enough of your posts that I think you're a travel agent rather than a traveller.

Shar, there was a Charleston thread last week. The poster choose Doubletree and also consider Mills House. Both good choices. Personally I think Charleston Place which was mentioned by Littleman is overrated (and overpriced.)
As for the question about a Marriott in the historic district there is a Renasance (sorry I can't spell). It is in a nice neighborhood but away from the market and restaurants. It is an easy walk though.
