Capitol Limited or The Cardinal to Washington DC

Hello

I want to take the Train/AMtrak form Chicago to Washington Dc in the second half of September.

Which Train is nicer ? Capitol Limited or Cardinal? It will be a oneway Trip

Are you traveling solo and reserving a roomette? Because if so I would take the Cardinal. I prefer the Viewliner roomette, with an upper window and sink and toilet, to the Superliner.

Hi Anne,

I've never taken the Cardinal, but I have enjoyed the Capitol Limited, with beautiful views of western Maryland and Harper's Ferry along the way. The Capitol Limited takes ca. 17 hours to do the trip while the Cardinal goes a longer route takes ca. 24 hours, if that makes a difference to you.

Best wishes, Daniel

Like Daniel, I've taken the Capitol Limited, but not the Cardinal, and like him, I thought the views of western Maryland and Harper's Ferry quite beautiful. I thought my roomette (solo) on the Capitol Limited was comfortable and it met my needs quite well, but I can't compare it to the Viewliner, as thursdaysd can.
