Boston North End Restaurants-anniversary dinner

My husband and I will be celebrating our wedding anniversary in Boston and are looking for North End Italian restaurant recommendations-thinking $30 per person or so. I lived in northern Italy and would love a restaurant that serves authentic Italian recipes in a romantic environment, but it doesn't need to be over the top either. We are not going to be eating rabbit and veal; we are happy with simple, tasty pastas and my husband loves seafood pastas. Mamma Maria has great reviews, but wanted to check and see if any others come to mind. I have looked at Prezza, Panza, Pomodoro, Ristorante Euno... any reviews on these or other suggestions? Do we need to make reservations for a Sunday night? Thanks in advance!

We always have a meal at Saraceno when in Boston and have never been disappointed. It's on Hanover Street in the North End. Ask for a table for the main, entrance floor. Their Spaghetti with clam sauce is excellent as well as their seafood appetizers.

We like Nico, which sounds like its menu and prices would suit you. Ask to be seated on the main level, not downstairs.

If you ask 10 people their favorite North End restaurant, you'll probably get 10 different answers but generally Prezza and Mamma Maria's are mentioned as top tier non-red sauce Italian food restaurants. Both are appropriate for a dinner marking a special event.

If you can make reservations, do so. It will guarantee you won't have to wait around or possibly have to find another restaurant with space. Happy anniversary.

Another vote for Saraceno. Their seafood fra diavolo is divine.
