Booked Maui Prince

Hello Friends,

Just a quick "thank you" for your help and seasoned advice throughout the planning process for this and other vacations.

We just booked 7 nights at the Maui Prince for mid-November. Based on comments here and at TripAdvisor and Maui Revealed, it seems that the beach at this property is pretty nice, and it sounds a little quieter and more secluded than the other Wailea properties.

It's costlier than we wanted ($2K for 7 nights [2 ppl] and economy car), but after much frustration with Pleasant Holidays we went through www.aavacations.com and even got 11K AA bonus points, to boot.

The alternative was 3 nights at ResortQuest Mahana at Ka'anapali + 4 nights at Maui Prince, but November is too iffy in West Maui for us sun worshipers...

Anywho, I'll be sure to report back on the experience! ~ Lynne

Have a great time. We'll be in that area in February. Scope out the beaches and such and report back.

We are planning a week at the Maui Prince for our honeymoon in Aug.'07. I can't wait to read your report about your favorites. If you don't mind giving me heads up on the best ocean view room i.e. away from pool noise and the general area or room numbers. It's a lot to ask, I know, but I have only one honeymoon and I want it to be outstanding!

Reply to mcrogers, We stayed at the Maui Prince at the end of September on the second floor directly across and above from the pool in a Ocean View Prime room (partial ocean view) and there was little if anything in the way of pool noise.

The best ocean view rooms would be the Ocean front rooms, none of which face the pool-which is located on the south side of the hotel and generally out of view of the ocean front rooms. Congratulations!

The best rooms at the Maui Prince are the Ocean-front Suites. Wow. The most fabulous view and so much room. Honestly, they are the best hotels rooms in Maui. They are very popular, people keep reserving them far in advance for their next visits.

any chance that we'll get an upgrade to the ocean view category upon check-in?

we're booked for partial ocean view, which sounds great since we're trying to holiday economically, but who doesn't love an upgrade?!

Always a possibility. If it's a special occasion, call and tell them. Sometimes it helps if there is availability.

Reply to lynnejoel015, as I mentioned in our T.R. see above link, it is possible to get upgraded from a partial ocean view to partial ocean view "prime". We were upgraded at no $-) to within 3 rooms of the Ocean Front rooms.

Also although our room faced the pool with little pool-noise, on one night there was a luau complete with fire dancing enough to wake the dearly departed.
