Best way to get comps/freebies/coupons
Anyone have any tips on how to get comps/freebies/coupons to use in Vegas. I haven't been to Vegas before. I have signed up on the Internet for a guest card at the hotel I'm planning on staying at but I haven't booked the hotel yet.

In order to get comps, plan on spending A LOT of money gambling. Not worth it, in my opinion. Look for free magazines such as What's On In Las Vegas, Today In Las Vegas, etc. They're in every hotel. Lots of good information in them and coupons.

Comps are given based on the total number of dollars you gamble. Not how many you win or lose, but total amount you play. Casinos know they'll win a certain percent of your total doolars depending on which games you play. They will return a small percentage of the total amount they are expecting to win from you.
In the end, the comps you get (assuming you gamble several times in your life, not just once or twice) will be far less than the amount of money you'll lose, and far more expensive than you'd have spent on the rooms or food or whatever it is you get comped.
So the moral of the story is, don't play for the sole purpose of getting comps. Take the comps if you are going to play anyway, but that should not be a goal of playing.

Coupons can be gotten at:
www.billhere.com
www.entertainment.com
Or the magazines mentioned. Call the concierge at the hotel before you go and often they will send you the magazines in the mail.
