Bad Airline?

Another week and I am flying over. Since I've read some awful comments about United Airlines I kinda got scared and felt like I've chosen the worst one. Could you please tell me am I overreacting and that they do have a very nice service.
Hope to have a nice trip to Florida!

You are overreacting. Anyone can have a bad experience with anything, travel related or not. Those experiences are usually touted as being "normal" and they may be extremely rare. Many times it is the fault of the person that they had the experience in the first place. Hope that doesn't sound too cynical with regard to people in general.

Sounds like some pre-trip jitters to me.

If you're flying coach class, I think United is about the same as the rest of the airlines. Wouldn't get your hopes up for very nice service but you shouldn't be treated badly either.

Focus on what a great time you'll have when you get to Florida!

Sorry charli, I don't quite understand your response. Are you saying that if Joan has a bad trip (a random occurence) it's probably her fault? I think I need coffee.

You can read awful comments about experiences on any airline. We just flew United for our Wyoming vacation and everything fine....including comfortable roomy seating areas in coach!

We flew United for a multi-leg vacation last month and I'd rate it about the same as any other airline I've flown as far as service and roominess. However, they were more than 2 hours late on leaving our destinations for 2 of the 6 legs of our trip.

The ratings for all the major US carriers (United, American, Delta, etc) are virtually identical when you look at polls over the past 5-8 years.
You can read intense rants here from people who have had bad experiences on each of these carriers.
The major US carriers are all the same.
Not bad, not good, just mediocre.
