Anyone know of a hot tub in the surf on the left coast?

My Brother, who is aging and ailing, has expressed a desire to sit in a hot tub close to the pounding surf. A salt water one in a tide pool would be ideal, he says. His frailty precludes him just sitting in a nice, but frigid, tide pool. Does anyone know of such a thing on the California, Oregon, or Washington coasts?

I know about the tubs at Esalen at Big Sur; I have some fond memories of them, many years ago in my youth. They are high up on the bluff, and my Brother really digs the thought of being down where he can watch the breakers, and hear the waves crash.

Any ideas from felow hedonists?

Here is a rental in Moclips, WA, that has a hot tub beyond the dunes: http://www.vacationrentalpeople.com/...ps/House-19283

Much closer to the waves are the jetted tubs in the windows of twelve units at the Best Western Beach Front Inn in Brookings, OR.

How about this one, nukesafe.

Also check out the Cliffhouse and North and South Sea Castle Rooms-the private hotubs in these rooms appear to have
windows that can open. You can call and ask.
We'll be in Elk after a stay in Mendocino in a few weeks,
I'd be happy to personally check the windows for you !

Wondering if there are any tourist books on the subject at the library?

Here's a bog standard hot tub overlooking the ocean - and unfortunately it's not cheap

Thank all of you for your very helpful suggestions.

None of the places seem to exactly fill my Brother's needs, but I am thinking that more searching of the Oregon coast will yield suitable tide pools close to shelter.

He has multiple myeloma, and he wants to have me show him intertidal life before he goes. I trained in marine biology on the California coast, and he lived in the desert all of his life. He thinks he missed out on something important, and wants me to help him catch up.

Thanks again for your help.

Yeah, I had a feeling.

Here's a 'PDF' State Park link to the tide pools in Oregon. Also noticing that you may have accessibility issues as well. Maybe someone at the Parks dept after you tell them what you are looking for [apart from the immersing part] will give you some good tips?

Good Luck with your search.

In Depoe Bay Oregon there is a resort called "The Channel House " Some of the rooms have hot tubs on the deck, overlooking the ocean-

Maybe that would work for him
