Any recent stays of the Pink Blossoms Resort in Ogunquit, Maine?
Has anyone stayed at the Pink Blossoms Resort in Ogunquit lately? We are spending 4 nights in Maine. We aren't really looking for a "cottage on the beach" sort of experience; rather, we need a base for our explorations. We are a family of 5 and want to be in one suite. Most everything along the southern Maine coast is already booked for our mid-July dates.
I have the Hampton Inn Ogunquit booked, as a fall back...the reviews are actually good. Then I ran across a reference to the Pink Blossoms Resorts and they have availablity, too. They are apparently in walking distance to the beach and town, and it might be a slightly better experience than the Hampton Inn. Anybody have any thoughts?

I haven't stayed at either, but can tell you that the Pink Blossoms location is much better for being able to walk to town, Perkins cove, shops and restaurants. Its locally owned and has a good reputation in town. Some of their units are former condos that went defunct which PB then took over in addition to their original inn.

Is the Hampton Inn actually in Ogunquit? I think it is in Wells which is a little further north on route 1. I'm also pretty sure that it is on Route 1 and not really easy for beach access. I haven't stayed at Pink Blossoms but have seen it (It has several buildings.) It has an excellent location on Shore Rd. which would let you easily walk or take the trolley to the beach or Perkins Cove depending on your energy level. And in general I think it is just a much nicer area/atmosphere than being way out on route 1. Also try Sea Castles on Shore rd and Sparhawk which has some large suites which might accomodate five.
Good luck---we love Ogunquit.
