3-Day Trip to NO & Coast - Help with Itinerary!
Next week I am heading to New Orleans for the first time. I have never been to the south! My boyfriend and I will stay in NO Wednesday night and want to check out some coastal towns on Thursday, returning to NO Friday for the night. Has anyone heard of Magnolia Plantation, where my bf wants to stay Thursday night? Any recommendations on what to check out along the coast? Any recommendations on reasonable accomodations in NO? Thanks for your help!

If you have never been to this area, I would suggest spending 3 days in NO rather than trying to fit in the Gulf Coast in such a short time. You could drive over for the day, but unless there is something specific he wants to see there, I wouldn't go at all.
Are you talking about the Magnolia Plantation in Gulfport? It looks beautiful, but it is North of I-10 and pretty far from the beach. Again, I'm not sure what you are going there to see, but it doesn't look like something worth going to.
If he still wants to go to MS, check out some of the other posts on that area - Bay St. Louis, Gulfport, etc.

I'm stunned that you're heading to NO next week and haven't made reservations for a place to stay! If I were you, I'd get right on that!
As for a side trip, I agree with the others: there's not really anyplace of interest that's so close you'd want to include it in your first trip to NO.
