Honeymoon on a Budget
My finance and I are planning our honeymoon for end of June/early July of next year (2017). We took a big trip to Scotland in September (where we got engaged!), so are looking for a more budget friendly trip with a little less planning for our honeymoon. We are planning on another large Europe trip for 2018. Does anyone have any ideas they could share? A few bits of information:
- We would like to keep the trip under $3k, and are flexible on the length. A two week vacation would be amazing. but possibly not with that budget
- We are both willing (and would love to) go back to Europe, but are not sure of a decently priced area in the middle of summer
- We want a mixture of relaxing and sightseeing/outdoor activities
Please let me know if you need anymore information, and I appreciate any and all suggestions!

Look to Asia for wonderfully inexpensive trips, great food, upscale options for accommodation at a fraction of the price compared to western destinations, stunning places to visit, in general no place like it, especially for those wanting more for their money. If you haven't been to that part of the world before, I recommend Thailand for a first trip.
Or Mexico.
Or Mexico.

You might check resorts in Mexico or the Caribbean (where plane ticket, hotel/resort, and food/beverage is included in an AI package).
Try this website to give you some ideas of what might work and what kind of prices you'll find:

We were in Colombia in June/July this year and loved it. An incredible country with loads to see and wonderfully inexpensive. Some photos and detail on our blog which may provide inspiration https://accidentalnomads.com just click on the destination tab for Colombia. Also consider Peru. You could easily cover some of the highlights like Machu Picchu and Colca Canyon in that time.
SE Asia, Thailand, Vietnam etc. offer great value in terms of cheap, great hotels but you need to pick your location very carefully as the weather at that time of year is variable to say the least!

My suggestion would be Portugal. One of the most affordable destinations in Western Europe and fairly close to U.S. Explore Lisbon or Porto then head to southern Portugal for beautiful relaxing beaches and scenery.

Hello,
A good and economical-romantic destination is Greece, especially Ionian Islands. This period, the weaather is sunny and yoy have the opportunity to have a cruise around the islands.
I wish to make a good choice!!

We loved Santorini, if you're considering Greece. It seemed like a honeymooners' paradise. We were there in mid-September, though, when it is more quiet.
Go to CostcoTravel.com, and look at their packages. You said less planning, and maybe you'd like to buy a package from them, where ferries and all ground transport is included. You have a driver meeting you at the airport and ferry terminal.
It isn't cheap, but you can choose the less expensive lodging. We loved The Gold Suites.
