Ft. Lauderdale to Florence - Need Flight Advice
My friend and I are flying (hopefully first class) from Florida to Florence and returning from Rome. We're closer to Ft. Lauderdale, but Miami ok. Don't want to make more than 1 stop. Any suggestions?

You aren't going to find direct flights from either airport. Fort Lauderdale represents itself as an international airline, but it's mostly to Central and South America.
Miami will have more options. Only one airline flies nonstop to Rome, which is Alitalia.
The Florence airport is a regional airport. You'll find lots of international flights going to from Bologna, then a short train ride down to Florence.

Your best bets are Lufthansa or Swiss. Both offer 1-stop flights to Florence (or Rome) from Miami, both offer first class, and both have superb F products. (I prefer Swiss's inflight first class, but Lufthansa's F ground services are probably the best of any airline, anywhere.)
