bored - need an idea for February family trip from ny

It's got to be warm. We like to snorkel. I don't want to break the bank. We have only a week. Parents plus a 14 & a 16 year old.
I'm bored. Thinking of Roatan, but not sure just because of the flight situation - only one real solution that's not 20+ hours. Maybe we do the one flight option we have - it's worth it I hear.
Got any ideas? Bermuda, too cold. Hawaii, not long enough of a trip. The 16 days we spent there years ago was not enough. Dominican again? Maybe - love it there. A Europe trip this time would be Italy and it's not warm enough and I don't feel like spending too much time in a car.
Got any ideas for me?
Thanks - Dorie

How about Mayan Riviera (Caribbean coast of Mexico)? Fly into Cancun, then could head to Isla Mujeres, Playa del Carmen, or Akumal. Cozumel, Meridan, the various historic ruiins. Plenty of beautiful beaches and great weather in Feb.

Cancun and Carribean are great places for snorkeling. But if you can't really choose, then maybe go for Dominican again. It wouldn't be that bad if you enjoyed the place before.

Do also post and read on the Caribbean and Mexico forums here on Fodor's. There's tons of information already posted or you can re-ask your question there (not too many people read "Travel Tips" branch).

Incredible beach and hotels in Negril Jamaica. Great weather in February. Fairly easy flights down (into Montego Bay).

I don't find it too cold in Bermuda during February (or maybe a little bit) but it's such a good place for a family trip. So you might want to rethink about Bermuda.
