Seeking itinerary help - two weeks in November

Hi - I'm heading to South America for a month in November. A friend and I are spending two weeks in Buenos Aires and in/around Patagonia. After that, I have two weeks to fill and am having trouble deciding where to go. I was thinking of going up to Iguazu Falls and then continuing on up to Rio and to a beach town (or two) from there, but I'll be alone so I'm a little hesitant and unsure of the best places to go. Am also open to the Pantanal. I've done Bariloche, Mendoza and other parts of Chile previously, so was looking for a new area - goal is to explore and not get too caught up in touristy areas. Any input is much appreciated. Thanks!

My votes would be for:
-Iguazu (both the Argentine and Brasilian sides of the falls)
-Salta - Rent a car and drive a circuit of the region for 5/6 days - more info on our blog http://www.travelpod.com/travel-blog...ai/1/tpod.html - entries #75 on..

-Peninsula Valdes - a bit remote but worth it to see the Southern Right Whales close up (check the time of year)

Apart from Iguazu, none oof these places are overly touristy.

If you and your friend want to party the best cities are Rosario and Cordoba. Also in Cordoba you have lot of things to do.
