Need advice on wiring money, Peru travel agent

I am planning a 9 day tour to Peru for my family in June. Trippers Peru Tour Operator has reasonable prices but requires wiring 1/2 now and 1/2 just before arrival. The alternative is an 8% premium on credit card transaction.
Can anyone give me advice as to whether wiring money to this company is safe?
Should I negotiate another arrangement?
Can anyone suggest other Peruvian tour companies that can design a Lima-Cusco-MP-Puno-Lima trip for a reasonable price?

Have a look at www.andeantravelweb.com which is an independent, non travel agent site that provides current and useful info on tour companies. The other alternative would be to book flights, tours and accommodation independently which is pretty straightforward ( and a lot cheaper!).

I would never wire money to an organisation I did not know. You have absolutely no protection if things go wrong, in which case 8 % is a small price to pay. In addition, you should take into account the fees your bank and the remmiting bank will charge for the transfer.

All operators will build cc commissions into their prices, many will hide them and this tour operator is arguably being more open by quoting them separately. Have you compared their prices with other operators?

Andean travel web is actually owned by perutreks.com so not quite independent but still has a lot of good advice.
