San Miniato or Lucca area accommodation/home base recommendation please
We are doing a 30 day driving trip and are wanting to spend 4 nights in this area. Coming from Camogli on the Ligurian coast, after this San Miniato stay, we carry on to Chianti (Greve), Val d'Orcia, Umbria, then into Rome.
We will have a car, and from our home base, we would like to visit Lucca, perhaps Pisa, and do a day trip by train into Florence (we have been to Florence before, just concentrating on other areas this trip).
Do you have any recommendations? We are interested in Agriturismo or BandB type stays.
Any other tips for this area appreciated. I hear there is a great market in San Miniato, and it has been recommended as a good home base, as opposed to Lucca, for this stay....but, I would love to know if you disagree. Thanks
