Guarda, Switzerland

Our time in Switzerland (Lucerne and then Guarda) is brief before heading into Italy on the Bernina Express. Guarda for only two nights. We hope to have a couple of pleasant walks there and soak in the ambiance of the place. (Thank you to those who recommended the Lower Engadine).

If anyone has any recommendations/advice for this area, we would appreciate them. Thanks!!

We are hoping that our Swiss Travel Pass will cover transportation in this area. Those maps on the Swiss Rail site are so hard to read.

Walk from Guada to Ardez.
Visit Schloss Tarasp and walk from there to Tarasp-Vulpera.
Visit Scuol, Sent, and Lavin (particularly for its parish church).

Enjoy!

Just paying back for the great information I was given when planning my time in Switzerland! If you drink wine, raise a glass to me when your are in this spectacular corner of the world area.

You're going to have a great time.

<<We are hoping that our Swiss Travel Pass will cover transportation in this area.>>

It will.

Not a whole lot in Guarda - other than it's preserved architectural heritage and Romansh sgraffito and fabulous views...

Two nights is only one full day though, so take in a local hike and have a nice meal or dessert on the terrace of Hotel Meisser, soak up the peaceful surroundings and start planning your return visit.

Enjoy the Lower Engadine! We're headed back in December (again).

We will certainly raise a glass to you, Kja and Melnq8! We realize our time in the Lower Engadine is ridiculously brief, but we are looking forward to it, even if we are in the midst of thunderstorms, rain, or hail. Quiet adventure off the beaten path! Thanks for making us aware of its existence.
