What not to miss in Costa Rica
I am planning to stay near Tamarindo in March for one week. Will that location provide me with opportunities to experience all that Costa Rica has (beach, nature, relaxation)? Is staying in a rainforest a highlight that should not be missed?

If you only have one week, you'll have to be selective anyway. There's so much more to see, but ... there's always other holidays.
From the Tamarindo area you have plenty of possibilities to see a little of the country. Even around Tamarindo there's plenty to do, see and enjoy.
You could book a day tour to Arenal Volcano or a daytrip to the National Park with mudsprings of Rincon the la Vieja. That way you'll see some volcanos in tropical forest.
Another daytrip could lead you to the Palo Verde National Park (bordering the Gulf of Nicoya), where you visit the wetlands/mangroves, see some crocs, beautiful birds, monkeys too.
Have fun.

Rudy and Odette
Playa Tamarindo,CR (www.geocities.com/casalaloma , www.geocities.com/travel_scuba)
