Weather in Santiago, BA, Bariloche, Rio at Christmas?

We'll be going to Santiago, BA, Bariloche, Iguasso, and Rio in late December, early January. Do we need to pack any cold weather clothing for the mountain/lake areas? Also, any suggestions of great things to buy?

Santiago and BA should be warm, Bariloche could be only somewhat cool at night and Iguazú and Rio should be quite warm. Look at the 10-day forecasts before you leave.

For Rio, it will be very warm (can reach 38-40 C). Pack as little clothes as possible.

Yes, I agree pack light , very warm weather. In Santiago stop by "parque los Dominicos". Buy Lapiz in Chile.

In BA, we purchased four leather jackets at silvia y mario located across the side street by the Marriott Hotel at the start of Florida street. The jackets were ready in two days. Excellent guality. Cost $1100 for four jactets, brief case, & belt. A friends who travels alot had purchased jackets here. Many places to do so but we found this to be high quality and professional. Will make any style.Hitomi helped us. Very hard working and helpful.
Close to the recolata area is a department store with great leather desk items and placemates. Don't recall the name of the store.
Across from the Alvear Palace hotel, great men's shoes for 60.00.

Prices very good due to exchange rate.
Have fun.

mvpl asked: "Do we need to pack any cold weather clothing for the mountain/lake areas?"

My answer was: "Bariloche could be only somewhat cool at night.."

I stand by that. Pack some cool weather clothing, for Bariloche, or you may have to buy some clothes when you get there.
