Trip to Costa Rica with my girlfriend (mid 20s)

Hi

I am wondering what is the best idea for a trip to Costa Rica with my girlfriend. We are both mid-20s. Price is a factor but not on a super tight budget. We do not know much about traveling to Costa Rica and would like some basic travel ideas for around 7-10 days. We will be traveling from Toronto and would like to do this vacation in either June or July.

What about Costa Rica appeals to you most-wildlife, adventure, scenery etc? There are 27 different climate zones, so everything from beach to mountain and inbetween is available.

The most common trip for first timers is a combo of the Arenal area and Manuel Antonio. You get volcano and beach time, plus tons of adventure activities. Manuel Antonio has a lot of wildlife that is habituated to people so you can get close to monkeys, sloths, etc. The beach inside the park is beautiful.

Nature and adventure-if you enjoy river rafting, a run on the Pacuare river would be a perfect choice. World class rapids, 100+foot canyon walls covered in jungle vegetation, waterfalls, etc. The operators all pick up people staying in the San Jose area. Some will drop you off in a different location if you wish--Arenal or the Caribbean coast.

Good suggetions from RAC. I'd also suggest doing Sky Trek ziplines in the Arenal area and waterfall rappeling with La Roca/Sunset Tours. If you can't fit the Pacuare into your schedule, we used Rios Tropicales out of Arenal to do the Sarapiqui and really enjoyed it.
