My daughter and friends are going to be flying into PV in November and will need to get a taxi to their hotel. I haven't been to PV in a few years - can't recall exactly where the taxi booths are. Any info or advice for them on avoiding the crazy timeshare guys and getting directly to a cab?

Taxi Booths are in the airport lobby, can't miss them, Big Signs.
To avoid timeshare sales just don't talk to anyone who approaches you. The timeshare guys are located right after customs (red light/green light) but before you get out into the main open lobby. Just keep walking.
As cabron says, you can't miss the taxi booths, there's a couple with big TAXI signs on them. Prices are set by zone. You can pay in USD (at 10/1) or peso.
This will reassure them. Here's the order of what happens when you arriev PVR:
land the plane, and either deplane thru a regular ramp into the terminal, or stairs onto the tarmac then bus over to the terminal.
the first desk if Immigrations where you show passport & the tourist card you were given & filled out on the plane.
then baggage claim.
next Customs where you push a button for a green or red light. No worries green you go right thru, red (which rarely occurs) they may check your bags.
then the "timeshare shark tank"... just keep walking.
out into the open lobby where you'll easily see the TAXI booths, find a restroom, etc.
Thanks, suze! I already told her not to even make eye contact with the ts guys, but just couldn't quite remember where the taxi booths are in relation to the exit.
The main lobby has been remodeled recently so I'm not exactly sure myself honestly (but I'll also find out in November -yea!).
But agreeing with the first post, truly you can't miss 'em.
Call this reputable company which has your name on the card as you exit customs. They will take you door to door:
E-mail: info@pvfun.biz
Toll-Free Numbers From USA and Canada:
1-866-273-9383
1-866-464-6915
1-866-398-9596
I have used the service maybe 5 times, all very successful. They will need your airline and flight number. May charge over phone and be all set upon arrival at PVR.

gary, Can I ask please, why would you use a private driver instead of an airport taxi? I've never seen that recommended before.
Me too Suze. I never had a taxi that was not door to door. Why would you pay extra for a private driver? In Zihuatanejo this would cause huge conflicts with the Taxi Union. Do not know about PV.
Walk directly to the taxi booth. Choose yellow or white taxi. They are both fine. White taxi has more often a/c.
Have fun

Disregard post above. You can't "choose" a yellow taxi from the airport. Only white (federal) ones can pick up passengers from airport grounds.
I walked outside got in a taxi asked how much and off we went.
and it was white. That's my point.
