Puerto Vallarta what would you tell a first time visitor
Hello,
Our week at Four Seasons Puerto Vallarta is fast approaching.
What would you tell a first time visitor to Mexico? What to bring and what to leave home?
Thank you.
Sandy

First of all the Fours Seasons resort is not in Puerto Vallarta, it's not even in the same State, it takes about an hour to drive there from downtown PV.
But general advice on what to leave home, that would be your culture, open up to the Mexican culture, you'll love it. Might be difficult in a gated resort in Punta de Mita, so try to get out.

Bring sunscreen, relax and have a good time! Yes, you will be far from PV, but you will be close to smaller, beach towns to explore. It will also be very hot and humid, so be prepared.
Have a nice trip and please report back!

Agreeing with those above, Four Seasons is way out in a town called Punta Mita, more than an hour away to the north of Puerto Vallarta.
This time of year is the rainy season, so be ready for hot, humid weather with some chances of rain in the evenings or overnight.
As far as what to bring, just pack for a casual beach vacation. I don't bring anything special to Mexico, different than I would say Hawaii.
I would encourage you to include a day trip sometime during your stay, and take a taxi, bus, or private driver and go into Puerto Vallarta to look around Old Town. PV is a really great city. Lots to see and do. Great restaurants, cafes, bars, shopping, galleries, etc.

The Four Seasons is a gorgeous resort. Just because they stay there doesn't mean they won't go out and about. Besides coming all the way back into downtown PV, there are the smaller towns of Bucerias, Punta Mita, Ricon de Guaymbitos, San Pancho, Sayulita, out along that stretch of coastline they can visit.
