Presidente InterContinental Los Cabos

Has anyone ever stayed at this resort? Any tips would be appreciated> We have booked for February and are interested in knowing what attraction to see, what about rental cars vs. taxis etc. Thanks

I also am planning a trip to Los Cabos, and have posted two messages trying to get info, but this destination doesn't seem to generate any answers. There is a good site called allaboutcabo.com, I think. I wish we could get this thread going!

Marilyn, We are taking a leap, having visitied the Caribbean a couple of times, and been on a cruise. Wanted something different but "safe?" so we're going with this. I understand that it's very popular with Californians but no of NO ONE from the midwest who has travelled there. Let's keep looking and keep in touch! Thanks

We were in Cabo last May (from Ohio) and liked it enought to go back next July with another couple. Sorry I can't help with your hotel. We were at theFinesterra in Cabo, going to Melia Cabo Real on the corridor. Fishing is great. We used cabs/buses. Seem to remember cars were expensive if rented there. At the airport ignore the people waving signs for hotels. They are timeshare people who will get you to the hotel, but you have to sign up for a t/s presentation. (we own, but don't want that bother at the airport). Go to the front door to the glass booth for a shuttle van that will cost about $10-15 US, per person. Cabs run about $40-$50 to Cabo. Make arrangements at your hotel for return trip early. Lots of neat shops, lots of people wandering the beaches selling, and along the marina in town. There is a open market across from the Plaza los Glorias that carries everything. They barter down there all the time. Some will take US$. We did get some pesos, but not always needed. Restaurants: the OLD trailer park (there are 2)was excellent--split a plate and save $$ & still have plenty to eat. Romeo & Julietta's Italian near the Finesterra was very good, Felix's just off the main street close to Plaza los Glorias, and lots of little places along the street. At the hotel, the people were very helpful telling you where to go. Get your cabs at a hotel or restaurant, don't just flag them down. Settle on price FIRST. There are tours for snorkeling, whale watching (we were too late)fishing, to La Paz (interesting little town)water sports abound, beaches--but becareful, as some are NOT for swimming-strong undertow. People are very friendly, English widely spoken, but they light up if you know just a little Spanish, especially porFavor, gracias, muy bien. There is a Planet Hollywood, Hard Rock, Burger King. CSL is VERY Americanized and we met several from the mid-west, & a few from the East coast, but most from the west coast and canada. Have fun, email me, I still have my maps & stuff.

Hi-were were at hotel a few years ago--try to get room facing the beach. Beach is unswimmable, but great for those long, long walks..Several years ago rooms needed renovation-we rented car to go to Los Santos-whre there is a famous dining spot--long, long scenic drive up Baha--place was closed on Tuesdays, but found the original Hotel California..There are whale watches, go in the morning...marlin fishing is really big--within a short walk is Cabo San Jose-lovely little Mexican town--otherwise need car to get around although there is bus from hotel. At the time Buffet breakfasts were great...Palapa near the beach for lunch..yes, there are vendors on the beach, but I've never had trouble. Opposite Flea Market there is lovely craft shop.. Wandered through Plaza Las Glorious and thought it smelled--huge hotel--big drinking crowds...Time sharing is big, we weren't bothered.. <BR>
