Our itinerary..what do you think?

Ok, so we've finally figured it out. We get in to SJO Sat 4/8 and will fly Nature Air to Tambor and stay at the Rip Jack Inn for four nights in Playa Grande.

Then, we stay two nights in Monteverde at Hotel Fonda Vela. For fear of transportation problems, we will stay our last night at the Vista del Valle plantation near San Jose, looks great!

Any tips on must do activities, eats, transportation between the places, also travel time from Playa Grande to Monteverde--know the roads are bad, I'm thinking about 6-7 hours...? Thanks!!

darby, I'm anxious to hear about the Rip Jack Inn--do tell us what you thought about it once your return! I'm thinking Playa Grande (near Montezuma) to Monteverde will be very close to the 6 or 7 hours you have estimated. Assuming you are taking the ferry? It's about 1.5 hour to Paquera, a 30-60 minute wait for the ferry, 1.5 hour on the ferry to Puntarenas, then another 2 or 2.5 hours up to Monteverde. Gee, that's getting close! Have a great time!

How ARE you going to get to Monteverde? Have you checked Interbus? It will probably be your best option. .

darbyvt, Why are you flying to Tambor when you are heading to Rip Jack Inn?
Do you know the Rip jack Inn is on the Playa Grande near Tamarindo!!!

Whoa! I had wondered about this myself, but assumed that it must be that little beach near Montezuma. . .uh-oh!
