First Time Belize

Thank you for helping with my Belize trip. We did a low key trip. My husband and I were in need of some laid back vacation time. We stayed at Tranquility Bay( 12 miles north of San Pedro) on Ambergis. Beautiful!!!!!!Highly recommend. Did a great snorkel trip north of there.. saw a manatee! My husband bone fished and had a great guide… Paney..
Next on to Caye Caulker where I rented a house. Loved it.. people... food…snorkel trips…went to Al Tun Ha, and the Belize zoo. It was a great trip. The only sad thing is the amount of plastic waste washing up on Ambergis… tragic. I brought every scrap of plastic waste home with me so as not to add to the problem…. thanks again

Sounds like a wonderful trip! We loved Tranquility Bay, too, and are visiting Caye Caulker for the 2nd time when we head to Belize next month. Where was your place on Caye Caulker? Recommendations for tours or good? Thanks for posting!

Glad you had a great time. Always hear good things about Tranquility Bay. Very cool that you saw a manatee!

3 manatee swam into the little lagoon by the deck one afternoon when we were there - I couldn't believe it! They hung out for awhile, then moved on.

I also was disturbed by the plastic washed ashore when staying on Glover's Reef Caye in Belize. Many travellers in our group pitched in and helped the maintenance people clean the beaches. Sure has made me aware and more careful on my return home about how much plastic I use.

On Caye Caulker we rented Weezie's purple… a small purple house. It was perfect for two people. It shared a pool with two other houses.. nice. A five minute walk to the water and a private dock that my husband used for fishing.I really like the place. a 10 minute walk to dinner.. or a few minutes by bike. Be sure to eat at Pasta per Caso.. owned my Italians.. they make their own pasta.. very simple, only pastas and exquisite sauces.. we ate there 4 times in ten days! You can find Weezies purple through VRBO or trip advisor.
