Eating options at/near Sheraton Iguazu?
We are arriving at Iguaçu NY eve. Are there any eating options at/near Sheraton that you can recommend. We have kids and some of us are vegetarians so some casual fare would be good. I checked with the Restaurant at Sheraton and they have a NY Eve special dinner for $140/person and has a menu that we would not care for since some of us are vegetarians. Can you recommend any other options that are more affordable and casual?

In the park where the Sheraton is located there is at least one place where we had lunch one day. It is not far. However I do not remember what we ate that day or if it is appropiated for a vegetarian meal. It was inexpensive.

You might consider taking a taxi into town for dinner that night or eating in town before you go to the Sheraton. There is a small cafe/restaurant in the park near the Sheraton, but people were mostly getting coffee, drinks, and sandwiches when we were there. It may only operate during open park hours which are quite limited. I think it would have few offerings and possibly would not be open in the evenings. IMO the Sheraton offers convenience of location in the park, but the food is only average but pricey in Argentine terms. There are several posts here that recommend several restaurants in town.

For a little variety, we tried La Rueda <http://www.larueda1975.com/> in town. However, the restaurant was very easy and inexpensive to get to by city bus from the Sheraton. Although the bus driver probably won't speak English, if you say "La Rueda" he can stop about 1/4 block away and point to the restaurant for you. If there are several in your group, a taxi might be more convenient and not excessively expensive either.
Prices were excellent, service satisfactory and food very good (but not great). It is supposed to be the best restaurant in town. Keep in mind that Puerto Iguazú is a small town, so adjust your expectations accordingly. nevertheless, I would go back there again.
I just don't know about vegetarian options on the menu.

As you look toward the falls from the Sheraton, turn right and you can see the red roof of the Old Hotel. There is a complex of shops/cafes there including one buffet restaurant for $10 per person that has plenty of non-meat items. Alas this area is only open for lunch, so you are stuck with the hotel for dinner unless you want to take a 20 minute taxi ride into the town.

Another vote for going into Puerto Iguazu. It is small but the hotel can recommend a restaurant. It is very easy to get to by taxi. I think Orlando's rec of La Rueda may be a good one. That name sounds kind of familiar. I think that it would be a lot more fun to be downtown and then go back to the hotel later. Also can't speak for vegeterian dishes, but I am a picky eater and found plenty to choose from. But give me a glass of Malbec and I am happy. Anyway that price for the Sheraton is obnoxious. The restaurant there is just adequate at best. But the falls are great! And that hotel is the best place to stay. Have fun
