Just wondering if anyone else will be in Oaxaca for Day of the Dead this year. I'll be there with an archaeology group but will have free time some days and most evenings. Anyone else plan to be there?

My husband and I will actually be in Merida during most of the Day of the Dead festival...Have you ever been? I'm really looking forward to it...I'm sure it will put to shame any Halloween party I've ever been to.

We did Day of the Dead in Oaxaca about five years ago. WHile i usually avoid "estival" and events, that one is relatively low key and very comfortable. One of the better trips. Have fun.

I am so envious! I'd love to be Oaxaca for the Day of the Dead. We spent a week in Oaxaca a few years ago and loved it. I think it's time to go back! Escritora, you'll have to let us know how your trip went.

What is the likelyhood of getting reasonable flight/hotel to Oaxaca for Day of the Dead, two weeks before the event?
Just found out that I have vacation time remaining....!
