Cano Negro in April?

Just read MRand's report from '07 (isn't it great?) and loved his description of Cano Negro. Thought about going there myself, but most of the posts I read are of people who have taken the tour during the summer. I heard that it can be VERY hot in April. Has anyone been there during that time? Would you recommend going in April?

cardinal, since no one has chimed in for you yet, I wanted to say that when we've done the tour, the boat has been covered so you're not out in the open sun, and they always bring along a big cooler full of cold fruit drinks on ice. I know March and April can get pretty warm.

Thanks, volcanogirl for all your input on all my posts. It's been very helpful, and I've made many decisions based on your recommendations.
qwovadis, we will be in Tortuguero and do the canal tour. Would it be redundant to do Cano Negro or is it different enough? Is wildlife (our main reason to go) pretty much the same in both places? Thanks again.

We stayed at Tortuga Lodge too and loved it. Very similar to Cano Negro so if you have other things you want to do in Arenal, it would okay to skip the Cano Negro tour. We saw caimans, birds, monkeys, etc. in both places. Enjoy your trip!
