Rita, my husband and I along with our two kids are staying there in August. It came highly recommended by our travel agent but not many people have heard of it...I think (hope) that is because it new. I believe it was built in 1997. We are a little nervous too. Please e-mail me if you find out something interesting!

Check out www.cancunmx.com and the trip reports section. Several people have posted good things. The only "bad" things I've heard is that management is either unwilling or unable to move people to different rooms. Seems like they don't honor special requests, either. You get what they assign you upon arrival.

<BR>Our family of 4 stayed there last August and I would highly recomend it! It is a very nice hotel with a beautiful swimming pool and fun pool-side entertainment. The rooms were nice and clean with a beautiful view. It is across the street from Carlos & Charlies ( a fun eating place) Hope you enjoy your stay!

To the person who wanted to know more about the food at the Gran Caribe Real: ALL food and drinks were included in the all-inclusive price. They had a "fancy" restaurant, a buffet, a snack bar, and a self-serve area in the game room. You could also order room service once a day. They had themed dinners with entertainment as well. Very nice! You could get American food as well as Mexican. Although we ate mostly fajitas, tacos, etc. there was pizza, hamgurgers, chicken strips, club sandwiches and the list goes on and on. Enjoy!!
