BZ exchange rates

Thought the exchange rate was firmly set at 2 $BZ = US$1, but my DBT Visa record has several "Exchg Rte ADJ" notes of from "+1.17" up to +15.67" and a slightly varying "Exchg Rte" (close to 2/1, but differing daily).
Can anyone explain this (esp. the +15.67&quot to me? Thanks.

Here's our experience.

Doing tourist business within the country, it was always $2 BZ to $1US. It never varied. Most shop keepers couldn't deal with it if it was in fractions.

When leaving we wanted to change BZ dollars back to US and were told by the bank they could only do that at the airport. When we got back to the airport, we made the exchange at a rate similar to what you're describing. That was the only time we saw that.

During normal business with restaurants, etc US and BZ dollars are generally mixed in the transaction. Or can be.

Right; we had no problems dealing with the BZ dollar to the US dollar while there; we mixed the demoninations. It's the Visa card record that just came; I expected a fixed 2 to 1 (or even floating percentages close to that), but the 1.17 to 15.67 is totally confusing to me. What is Rte ADJ?

Credit card companies give you the

overnight FOREX exchange rate which

adjusts up or down daily.

It is usually a good thing these days

as the dollar is stonger.

For precise exchange rates...

yes, yes, BUT, what is the "+15.67 Exchg Rte ADJ"? The actual rate varied from 0.5044xxxx to 0.5043xxxx, so that's not it.

You probably should ask those issuing your card. If you do, post it here please.
