Buenos Aires - Need Restaurant Recommendations
We are traveling to Buenos Aires for the first time in a couple of months. We very much enjoy good dining experiences - terrific food & wine. Hal,<BR><BR>This is an excerpt of a massage that I wrote to another tourist a short time ago:<BR><BR>Restaurants recommendations:<BR><BR>Marius or Porcao are both rodizios. They serve mostly meat ( eat as much as<BR>you want, or your stomach can take..) for a fixed price. Marius is beach<BR>front ( the one in Leme, as there's another one at Francisco Otaviano, less<BR>picturesque and no view), but meat and flavour wise, I prefer Porcao. There<BR>are many Porcao barbecue houses, the closest being be at Rua Barao da Torrein Ipanema. They serve, besides meat ( mostly read meat), sushis, a huge salad buffet, and nice side orders, everything being included in the price<BR>you're paying. Try pao de queijo ( cheese bread), aipim frito ( a kind of<BR>brazilian potato-- manioc-- prepared as french fries, humm, delicious) and<BR>also the bananas (also fried) as side orders. Desserts and beverages are not<BR>included.<BR><BR>Also, on Saturday, there's a wonderful feijoada for lunch at the Ceasar's<BR>Park restaurant. It's a typical brazilian dish, made with black beans, and<BR>every part of a pig's body ( well, nearly every..). Ears, feet, tail, you<BR>name it... It's delicious, and not disgusting at it sounds.<BR><BR>to be continued...

Hal, <BR>Buenos Aires is a city full of good places to eat. I suggest you a very accurate argentine web page with several restaurants qualified by food, ambiance, and service; it is: www.elgourmet.com (in Spanish) and choose "Guia de Restaurantes" (Restaurant Guide), then "Los mejores" (The Best) and enjoy your search. I am not totally convinced with Fodors choice, but in that list there is a few very good restaurants.<BR>Have a nice trip and welcome to Buenos Aires!!!!

It's hard to find an ugly woman or a bad restaurant in Buenos Aires, but some women are more attractive than others and some restauants are a cut above. <BR><BR>One spot not mentioned in guide books is Bisteca, in Puerto Madero near the Cines de Puerto Madero. Bisteca is a Tenedor Libre (all you can eat) restaurant housed in a converted warehouse along the water front. You can enjoy a wide variety of food here, everything from duck pate to chicken in lemon sauce and, of course, Argentine beef. Save room for dessert....cost about $20 pp at lunch, with a bottle of local wine, coffee, and an excellent after dinner lemon liquer (gratis). Plan to spend several hours. Dining here is a multi course experience....
