Brazil Trip Help!
Hi everyone, I finally decided to take a break from work (manager insisted!) and visit a friend in Rio. I want to leave soon at end of November and stay for 14-18 days, for which I also have to find cheap ticket quickly. I need your advices and experiences to get the most out of this long awaited vacation. What should I plan to do?? please include beach/islands, a bit of partying at nights, adventurous activites (like hang gliding!), scenery, and perhaps go to other cities as well. Also is 14 days enough?
Thanks in advance.

For a wholesale ticket to Rio Try:http://www.brazilianvacation.com/
Try looking at Buzios and hanggliding in Rio is done at San Conrado just go to the end of the beach in Sao Conradowhich is called Praia de Pepino and you will see all the hangliders. Try the San Marco hotel in Ipanema they have a website.

For a day-trip, I highly recommend Buzios...beautiful fishing village with great pousadas (small hotels) and excellent beaches. Check out www.buziosonline.com . It's one of my favorite places (anywhere). Nightlife there is good too.
Not sure what your budget is, but I stayed at the San Marco when I was on a tighter budget than now. It was fine and in a good location (Ipanema cooler than Copacabana). For more upscale accomodations, Caesar Park, Sofitel and Othon Palace are fine.
Nightlife wise, Leblon has cool, less touristy lounges. www.ipanema.com is a good site for Rio info.
It's a fascinating country....have fun.

Thanks people. I will check out buzios but am not sure if Iguaca Falls is worth 24 hour driving. Is there something else to see or do there? I live in Toronto and have seen Niagara Falls thousand times!!!
Just maybe a rediculous question, there probably is not a dress code for the clubs I assume! Do people dress up for going to nightclubs???
Thanks.

That question about dress code in clubs is not a ridiculous question because I believe that the Brazilians do dress up some what even though it is hot. I have been on line going in to clubs and for men they weren't allowed in with shorts on. So this is not an everything goes complete dress down type of place.

I suggest u to visit Angra dos reis, Paraty, Ilha Grande and Petrópolis. The first one is paradisiac. The second one is historic. Ilha Grande is a big island of angra dos Reis that is just fantastic. Petrópolis is in the mountains near rio, just beautiful. Any aditional info just ask at [email protected]
good trip.
