Arenal and Manuel Antonio - rainy season?

I am traveling to Costa RIca for my 10 year anniversary the first week in November! The weather reports are starting to make me nervous. I thought it was the end of the rainy season.........
Any hints for still having a blast if it rains the whole time?
Also any must dos in those two locations? Planning to participate in adventures in Arenal and relax during the Manuel Antonio leg of trip (3 days each).
Thank you for any and all advice.

Check www.arenal.net for lots of info about the area

As for weather -- who knows!? The weather forecast a couple of weeks ago was for rain, rain rain and then more rain. But it has been dry for the last week! I was traveling all around the country for a week and never saw a drop of rain. (Heard it a couple of nights.)

November can be very rainy in some parts of the country but this year, all bets are off. You can look here for typical rainfall at various times of the year:

Usually the end of November is considered the end of rainy season so I'd expect that you will probably get some rain. Some things we like in Arenal - the Eco Termales or Tabacon natural hot springs, volcano hike, Hanging Bridges, you can zipline, do the Cano Negro tour to see wildlife, and hike the waterfall and swim at the base. We've done most of them in the rain, but we've never had a total rainout. Hopefully you'll get some good weather. Check out Sunset Tours and Desafio for tour info.

Kris, I'm also going to be in Arenal/MA the first week in November, so I'm also having high hopes the weather will be good! Not going to let it stop us though.

"Usually" you're best bet for outdoor activities during rainy season will be morning time. So try to plan those activities accordingly, maybe do Eco-Thermales in the evening with dinner, won't matter if it rains when you're in the hot springs. But as mentioned above, early November is still very much in rainy season and many areas of CR have been having heavier rain than normal this year. Staying somewhere that has nice common areas to socialize is good also. Other than that, the inexpensive rain ponchos are good for hiking in the rain and at least it's not cold!

Finca Valmy is a nice horseback ride in MA and has morning and afternoon rides so get the morning one if you can (if you choose to do this).
