Zurich airport

I will be flying Swiss Air from JFK to Zurich, and then on to Vienna. There is 1 hour and 50 minutes between my flights. Does anyone know anything about this airport in terms of terminals and the way they are set up? Will I have any time to do some quick shopping? Thanks in advance for any information.

I flew with Swiss Air from Zurich to Vienna last summer, the airport is compact and efficient,if your flight is on time, you should have time to browse the duty free shops.

I spent FIVE hours there last year connecting to Italy. I landed at the older section, you will know it when you see it..much older decor, one duty free shop, one"leiderhosen" shop, a bank and a clothing store. A "food court" with a "starbucks". Sigh.....if you land in this terminal, walk over to the new area by the LONG enclosed walkway. You are now in a great shopping area!! Lots of better , mor ehigh end shops, magazines. swiss army and victorinox knives, food. Trust me, your gut will tell you whether you are in "oz" or not! You can walk to the new terminal, shop and still make it back if you are flying out of the old one.

Artlvr is actually describing both of the older terminals, Gate A and Gate B. Gate B does have a few more shops than A, but neither are anything to write home about, and it is Switzerland which is expensive to begin with (I live here.) Chocolates are a good thing to look for, but at the beginning of your trip, you might not want stock up. Anyway, with only a hour, you won't have a lot of time to shop.

The newest terminal is Gate E, which is only accessible by underground train which takes about 3 minutes from A or B. There is some shopping here, and a few bars and restaurants. It is a pleasant terminal compared to A and B. You should be able to check with your airline or the airport website to determine which terminal you will be landing at and departing from (it may be the same terminal, but not always). Note that the line for the security checkpoints at Gate E tends to be very long, so if you are landing at another terminal but departing from E, bear this in mind.

Website for the airport is http://www.zurich-airport.com
