Where to plan next family holiday??
Hello hello, We have just returned after yet another fab family holiday in Europe.. We have done the exact same holiday for two years in a row..4 days in Fussen Germany staying at Hotel Rubezhal, 6 days in Ortisei in Italy at the family hotel Cavillino Bianco and finally 4 days at lake Wolfgang in Austria at Hotel landhaus Appesbach...
It has been a near perfect itinerary with mountains, lakes, superb hotels including one (which is the kids favorite!) - the Club Med type hotel in Italy, lots of outdoor activities for the kids - Luge rides, Ropes courses, walk and picnics, amusement parks / castle visits and boat rides.
My problem now is coming up with a comparable fun holiday for next summer since we were keen to do something new..I also want to mention that we have done Switzerland for 2 years in a row before that ..and included Wengen and Saas Fe in those holidays..
Any ideas?? I was thinking about Scandinavia but don't know where to start..The kids will be 13 and 9 years old next year..
many thanks for your responses in advance - Deepa

Oooh, so many choices!
Slovenia and Croatia - canyoning, river rafting, waterskiing and kite boarding plus the caves and hiking in the Julian Alps. How about a week in Slovenia and then, head to the southern islands of Croatia and hire a chartered boat for 1 week to explore the islands.
There are some ideas here:

Thanks for your responses..I also wanted to metnion that the reason we have been concentrating on the mountains is that there is a huge need for us to try to seek cooler weather, given that we live in hot and humid Singapore!! Perhaps Croatia and even Venice are very warm at that time of year??

I would like to go Europe for Barge Vacations. Europe is full of beauty and to visit its beauty by waterways is wonderful. I live in Australia and planning to go with my friends for one month barge vacations. http://www.bargeconnection.com
