Where is Piazza dei Re di Roma?
I'm told this piazza is 5 min. from center of Rome by metro. I cannot, however, find it on any online maps.
I'll visit the bookstore this week, but would appreciate any leads on online maps detailing this location. Thanks!

Piazza Re di Roma is southeast of San Giovanni Laterano, well outside the city walls. A five minute metro ride will get you inside the walls, but not to the "center" of Rome which I consider the area around the Pantheon. It's about a 7 to 10 minute metro ride to Termini station. Mappy.com should be able to show you where the Piazza is located in relation to other Roman sights.

I just looked on my Streetwise Rome..andd though it's listed as being at O18..the map only goes up to zone 17! If you can find Porta San Giovanni it would be further out away from the center of Rome.

Holly - Piazza Re di Roma is actually only one metro stop from the city walls at San Giovanni. It's on a main shopping street (Via Appia).
As Grinisa says, it's only a few minutes from Termini (- 4 stops on the metro) - and not much more than 10 mins from Piazza di Spagna.
There are frequent buses from Re di Roma/ Via Appia/ San Giovanni to the Colosseum and Piazza Venezia - less than 15 mins away.
Here's an interactive map. Sorry if it screws up the page.
(If it does, you can re-post a new thread ...)

Hope this helps ...
