Where can I stay in Tuscany countryside?

Help. I will be traveling to Italy in August and I am looking for a place to stay in Tuscany, a villa/farmhouse/B&B style where I can see lots of hills and greens. I am looking for 2 night stay. Please help. Thanks.

We really loved an agriturismo (farmhouse b&b) just outside Greve, in Chianti (Tuscany). It is called Podere Torre. They have a website but I think the easiest way to access it is through

www.greve-in-chianti.com

Look under farmhouses/b&b's; Podere Torre is listed and you can link to their site. It is charming, kind of rustic but very comfy and has lovely owners. It is on a hillside in a vinyard, with gorgeous roses, cherry trees, views and peace. Not a villa -- simpler -- but if you want to relax, this is a good place.

Greve, about ten minutes down a winding road, is a nice town (a little expensive) for eating/shopping/wine tasting. Great butcher shop for salamis, etc.

Cecilia, the owner, is very mellow and helpful.

Villa Scacciapensieri looks awfully good to me. Seach here or google it; I think it is simply villascacciapensieri.com

Best wishes,

Hi!

You could check some of the big portals: they have many suggestions:

http://www.tuscany.net/
http://www.tuscanyok.com/
http://www.agriturismo.it/

Have fun!

Hi -

Try www.karenbrown.com

An go to Italy, "inns", she has many farmhouses by town. Also direct connection to the farmhouse website.

Enjoy -

There are so many wonderful places in Tuscany. For me, the main issues to consider, after price, would be location (in town or in the countryside), comfort and the other would be air conditioning.

We just stayed at a most wonderful hotel in Castellina...we really thought it was a beautiful property and we had a large, comfortable room. But we noticed that there was no air conditioning. This was not an issue for us in late March but in August it might be...especially since the windows do not have screens and the summer does tend to be more buggy.

We stayed 3 years ago at a place called Hotel Residence San Sano located in Castellina in Chianti. We really enjoyed it. It was in the country and convenient to visit the region's wineries. Their website is www.sansanohotel.it/.

Have a nice trip.

Another recommendation if you want to be in Chianti. Hotel Residence San Sano, only a few rooms in an ancient, tiny village. The only commercial establishment is a family run trattoria which was excellent 4 years ago. Great location and views. Great breakfasts, everything! www.chianti.net
