agrituismos in Tuscany

Hey Folks,

Does anyone have any recommendations for staying in an agriturismo in Tuscany, with young teenagers? Thanks

skiobx,
I like La Crociona http://lacrociona.com/ but you can find many options at Slow Travel http://www.slowtrav.com/italy/vr/reviews.asp

There are so many now that you can be choosy based on location. Read about where in Tuscany you want to be--it is a big place. Then, spend time at slowtrav.com and narrow your focus.

we loved villa vignamaggio. Tennis courts and two beautiful pools if your teens would like that. They have apartments as well as regular rooms in an old villa where the woman who posed for Mona Lisa was reportedly born.

Also try Tuscany.net for a wide array of accomodations with great pictures.

I guess they need space and some hills to consume energy - in other words, Chianti: www.greve-in-chianti.com - places to stay and things to do (for young and old)

Thanks everyone....I appreciate everyone's comments and have browsed slow travel and tuscany.net. I guess I'm just overwhelmed with the options!!!! I've emailed lacrociona and villa vignamaggio and am anxiously awaiting there response. Again, I'd greatly appreciate hearing from anyone with comments (good or bad) on agriturismos in which they've stayed.

There must be 100 or more reviews at slowtrav--more than you will get here.

Go to the www.greve-in-chianti.com site which constant mentioned above for some more options. I stayed a few years ago at Podere Torre, which can be accessed through that site. A sweet small place with a great owner and some friendly dogs!

Not in Tuscany, but this great place I stayed at last May in Umbria was very kid friendly and had a nice pool:

Ditto on the slow travel site -- read the reviews. We almost stayed at Brigolante, (but also in Umbria not Tuscany) which is reviewed extensively on that site --the American owner writes a commentary for the site, actually. It is right near Mt Subasio (sp?) nat'l park where St Francis roamed. It sounds like a great family place.
