Wheelchairs in Vatican Museum

Does anybody know if the Vatican Museum has wheelchairs for rent at the entrance? This is for a person that doesn't use a wheelchair normally but has severe knee problems and has trouble walking long distances( as in the loooong corridors of the Vatican museum). I have been several times to the Vatican museum but I don't recall even seeing people on wheelchair.

Any info would be appreciated!

Forgot to add that click Vatican museums, next page click info museums, and then on the next page click visitor services and that will take you to the info you want.

Yes, wheelchairs are available. We obtained one at the entrance, did have to wait a little bit for it to be brought around to the door. On the website it indicates that it is possible to reseve in advance - this may decrease the waiting time. Once inside there was no problem, with staff providing directions and access to elevators between floors.

Thank You so much for the info!

Smackmo, I had tried the website but obviously didn't know where to look. Thanks for pointing it out.

Seamus, Thanks you for suggesting the reservation option. It seems like the way to go.
