What should a woman wear in June in Paris

Jump to last reply

My Husband and I plan to spend 4 days in early June in Paris and then fly to Ljubljana Slovenia for 7 days, some of which will be hiking. Im a 71 yr old woman, 5'6.5" and 125 lbs. I've read enough about Paris to know that a lot of the blacks and grays I have are appropriate. I have some nice black and dark blue jeans, subtle silk/cotton or Icebreaker lightweight wool t shirts. And a nice Icebreaker lightweight wool, gray cardigan.

But I am concerned about what to wear if it gets hot and humid. I find skinny jeans, or any jeans uncomfortable in that type of weather. I am wondering about a long skirt. The skirt I have is straight to below the knee then flares out slightly to mid-calf. It's reversible, a subtle grey and black geometric pattern on one side and the other side black with a little grey showing at the hem,. It can easily be dressed up or down. Or I've found an LLBean dress, cotton, short sleeves, V neck, princess waist, comes just below the knee in black or royal blue. Both items would be comfortable with sandals or flats, or heels---eek!

I also wondering about a raincoat. I have a long black raincoat I could wear on the plane or a short rain jacket that is easy to pack. Also I have an umbrella. I have some close toed Eccos that are comfy and would keep my toes dry. What about wearing socks or stockings?

Once I get to Slovenia I will be able to wear jeans, t's, sweater, flats or athletic shoes. I think it's a little less formal there. So mostly I need help on Paris. I really want to pack as lightly as possible.
