What are Your Favorite Kid-Friendly Hotels in Paris?
Hello---Our family is potentially planning a trip to France for summer 2015. We will have our son in tow---he will be 5 years old at this time. We are totally open as far as specific location within Paris. My husband and I have been to Paris before and with a 5 year old----we envision doing simple, kid-friendly things like the Luxembourg Gardens, buying tasty pastries, or seeing the Eiffel Tower at night. A hotel with nice neighborhood restaurants and shops in walking distance would be great. The key is a hotel that likes little kids! Thanks very much in advance for your kind suggestions.

Well the obvious questions are:
How many days?
How much per night? (Specific amount in $ or euros - not "won't break the bank" which could mean anything.)
If you already know Paris and have a little one I would reco an apartment versus a hotel - gives more space, option for breakfast and snacks in the room and the adults don't have to go to bed the same time as the 5 year old.

Good advice from nytraveler about an apartment, and good thinking from you on things to do.
I would look near the Luxembourg Gardens.
I would add a boat trip from the Pont Neuf on the Seine at night, a trip through a market street (little kids are fascinated by "gross" stuff like raw fish), and I would take a kid to the Arenes Lutece, perhaps the world's smallest Roman amphitheater, where he could "fight lions".

There is the Hotel Victoria Palace, they have adjoining rooms, cute typical Parisian hotel, about a 5 minute walk to the Jardin du Luxembourg. Friends were there with their small kids and they had kids gifts and books for them as part of the hotel room package. It should be easy to find on the net, I can't remember the address, but just off Rue des Rennes.

Remember when booking the room you have to book a triple.. they count bodies regardless of age. Some hotels will not charge extra for young kids,,but they have strict fire occupancy laws so each hotel has to keep track of exactly how many bodies are in the hotel.
I too suggest an apartment.. look at Parisbestlodge.. they have apartments in central areas.. are clean, well run, and the manager speaks perfect English! I have stayed in two of their units.. both were exactly as pictured,, and I visited 3 other units..all nice.
If going in summer get a/c... you may not always need it.. but when you need it , its a godsend, and totally worth having!
