weather and recommended outfits
Hi everyone, I'm going to Europe for 12 days beginning May 8th. (Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, & London). Any information on the current weather would really help in selecting weather appropriate outfits, specifically outerware, shoes (boots?), etc.

The forecast for Amsterdam is cloudy, maybe showers and 19C on Wednesday, cooler,12-15C but sunny in the following days.
Brussels is similar, Paris slightly warmer, with chance of showers around 13th to 17th. London too has a similar forecast.
www.buienradar.nl. You can see the actual radar picture and if you click on verwachting at the top and you can chose the 5 day or 14 day forecast. 14 day also offer buitenlandse plaatsen - ie other countries.

This is spring - not midwinter in Siberia. You do not need boots, heavy coat or gloves.
You need a couple of pair of comfy waterproof walking shoes, a sturdy folding umbrella, a cotton sweater and a very thing rain jacket with a hood if possible. Several layers - from tees to long sleeve shirts will cover whatever weather you meet.

12c is 54F. Cool but not gloves, boots and heavy coats weather. Unless you are from somewhere like Bangkok that is.
Seriously you do not need heavy clothing. You will be walking around a lot and in and out of buildings. A light waterproof or an umbrella is a good idea, plus a light sweater.
I walked my dog this morning in a short sleeved T-shirt - the temperature was 15C and I was warm by the end of the walk!
Comfortable shoes are a top priority. You can always buy a cheap umbrella or sweater if you need one, you can't buy comfy shoes while you are away.

Add a warm sweater (fleece) - evenings can be chilly and mid May is notorious for a cold spell. I'd never travel without one warm sweater in these parts of the worls even in high summer.
And don't trust any weather forecast beyond 3 days in advance. They are useless, no matter how convincing they look.
