We need Honeymoon Ideas. Getting married this May
1. For our honeymoon we were going to Egypt for two weeks but we are still very much undecided because of the recent turmoil. We also considered Dubai, but many persons here in the forum said that Dubai was a bad idea for a two week honeymoon destination.
2. We also considered Italy (Venice, Florence, & Rome) but the poor exchange rate on the US dollar would make the trip expensive. I would love to do Europe but not sure that 2 weeks will be within budget. Paris would be a consideration but I have been there with an ex, so she does not want to go there for our honeymoon.
3. We want to relax on our honeymoon but also sightsee and explore the local culture. She likes the beach (and can be there for hours), but I like to get out, see the city and explore. Her previous trips include Jamaica, Cancun, etc., while I mostly travel in Europe, Asia and Africa so our travel experiences are very different. Also her longest trip has been 4-5 days while I have vacationed for 4-5 weeks at a time.
The Caribbean is not our first choice but would consider it if it offered something out of the ordinary.
4. As you can tell, Egypt was our ideal destination. We were practically packed and ready to go, but now we are starting from the beginning to decide. Our travel budget is $ $10,000 USD maybe a bit more if needed.
5. We have considered Kenya with a Safari, the islands of Maldives, Egypt; Italy, and Dubai. We were wondering about the Canary Islands.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you thought Italy was too expensive, I think you will feel the same about Kenya/Maldives.

Our honeymoon is in July and we are doing 1 week in Paris and then 1 week in San Sebastian, Spain. Our budget is about the same as yours. We are very excited!
Also, I have a friend who did a two week honeymoon in Dubai last October and loved it.
