War history, attack on Jewish star / destroyed in war
Hi,
I am curious to find out 1 information piece which I stumbled upon in Wikipedia and then could not trace it back. It was about a Jewish star ( star of David) which was shot during war.
Just to find out this info.
Regards,
Vivek

vivek, yo regellt...we would need a lot more information on "the Jewish star shot(?) during the war" ...do you have the source or was Wikipedia the only one? Please clarify and I or someone else within this forum will certainly be pleased to help.

Hi.
Wikipedia was my only source of this information. And I can't get back to this link. I am sure this was somewhere in Europe, near Czech Republic / Poland/ other place in Eastern europe.
What I want to know is the name of this place where it happend.
Thanks
Vivek

I should imagine that this was an all too common occurrence duing the war; any Star Of David adorning a Synagogue, Jewish cultural centre or indeed private home was likely to be shot at and/or defaced by soldiers of the Wehrmacht as they advanced across great swathes of Europe.
What was specifically note-worthy of the particular event you have in mind?

Vivek..I had another thought. If you are Hungarian, based in or near Budapest, call on the very knowledgeable Robert Turan at the Great Synagoogue (Dohany Street) Museum (upstairs in the adjoining building). He or any other docent possibly can steer you somewhere in the city or on your computer for help on this question. Although I'm helplessly puzzled, you have peaked my interest.
