Visitors to Lutenblag

So the very useful, fact-filled thread on Molvanîa has been frozen by the ever-watchful Fodors editors. Clearly this was due to several mentions of the arrival of mkingdom2 in Lutenblag--there goes the neighborhood.

It could also have been helped by the fact that both Jetlag and Rick Steves have beaten Fodors to the punch in getting out new guidebooks to this wonderful land.

I too noticed the thread was frozen, just when I was ready to ask:

Will anyone be in Lutenblag on election day? If so, let's meet and enjoy the results as they arrive by carrier pigeon! First round of Movanian Ale is on me.

It may be frozen, but I'm going to copy it into a word doc so I can add it to my "Funniest Fodors File." Assuming it's still there.

Got it. I will now serve as the Molvanian Realarchivostourismos for those who wish to access this invaluable thread, lest the dastardly enemies of Molvania try to rewrite history and delete the thread.

Ahhhh is that what it was that I couldn't post to the Fashion question directed to M_Kingdom. At the Chambre Syndical (Paris's answer to the Fashion Institute of Technology) a designer tyro named Nina Grofzka has woven bags of Molehair, Yakhair and hairs removed from the tails of the Moldavian Ass, (I believe it's called Asshair). The technique is very similar to the Icelandic Woolens which use only the natural colors of the hairs which are twisted into yarn. I understand Prada is poised to recruit this young woman.

Marilyn.
I am so glad I am finally able to answer your question, Unfortunately my pigeon is an extremely stupid bird and got the address of Amnesty International mixed up with Harmtick Internal which is a very powerful group of cutthroats in Molvania. They of course thought it was a secret message for "you know who" and you can imagine the consequences. Solitary confinement, no Mayfair amenities, lots of sobbing. Just heartbreaking. So your designer question will have to be shelved......So sad

pipsil, I will just have to prowl the streets of Lutenblag accosting the first well-dressed person I see to find out where they shop. It could take quite a while.

Let's - Go13:
I would love to join you in Lutenblag on Election Day. But will we be rejoicing? Besides, Molvanian Ale is the pits. You, of all the sophlsticates, should know the only thing to drink there is their locally produced Cliquot a Carrota.Hence the shortage of carrots for donkeys. Still, if you are buying I'll just have to put up with inferior stuff.

What was so funny about the Molvania thread? After reading the posts, I feel as though I've been there.

I have have had several round table dscussions with Rick and the like re;this wonderful - Lutenblag.
On the topic of Election day, one needs to retire the donkey with a full day supply of sugar cubes, not CArrots.

The most important thing is to grease ones body with a layer of hog fat dance in the streets and pray for Movanian justice. Go to bed happy, fat and wise......er, no probably dim-witted. But that is Ok. it is OK. really...

I too am disappointed the Molvania thread was frozen. It was the most insightful and honest thread we ever have ever had. It brought back such wonderful memories of my college days at the University of Greater Lutenblag Youth. In my days of studying at UGLY, I learned so much about about differnt cultures, different cuisines, and a completely different attitude about hygiene and dentistry.

Let's look at the bright side. We s/b glad it wasn't deleted, so we can continue to enjoy the knowledge we shared about this unique little country.

And just when we all learned the Molvanian language too! What a bummer.
Do they speak a different language in Lutenblag? Is Lutenblag the capitol of
Molvania?
I am really really irrated that I was never taught anything about this interesting country (or is it an island belonging to some other country?) when I was in school. So much for the California school system!
I think I read somewhere that in Molvania that kakhi (I can't even spell correctly, see what I mean about the California educational system) pants are not allowed. If this is so, how did Rick Steves get admitted? Think I need a glass of wine, this thread has me sooooo confused.
How could the Molvania thread been frozen? Isn't this the next "in" country to visit? I think I even heard that one can get a dentist for about US$1.00 (that is about $1.20 euro) an hour. Can it be true?
Oh good grief, NOW I get it!! No wonder the Molvanian population teeth look, um, pathetic.
But still, if you don't have dental insurance wouldn't it maybe be good to check this out?
By the way, I heard that the carrier piegons were so lazy that they deliver their message while being transported in the mouths of donkeys. Won't that make getting the election reports a little late. Ooooh, I get it! The election reports might take weeks anyway.
OK, so that will probably work.
Questions, is everyone just going to keep drinking Molvanian ale until they do get the election reports?
