Villa Rental in Italy
Can anyone recommend a 4-5 bedroom villa in Tuscany. Looking for something walking distance to town (shopping and restaurants).
I have done some investigating on Villas.net but I feel a personal recommendation is always best.
Thanks

Tuscany is a large area. When I was doing my research it was overwhelming how many possibilities existed.
Can you narrow down the possibilities by price range and a more exact location?
I needed something my father could have an easy walk from and thought I had found the right place for our recent trip this past month. It turned out to not fit this criteria although it was a GREAT place. My mother and I were able to walk down the little mountain to a small store, but my dad would not have been able to.
We were actually only a few kilometers from the WALLED city of Cortona, only a short drive.
You WILL have a car for your villa stay won't you?
Look forward to being able to help you some more once you list other requirements.
Best Regards,
plmn

I have found many on the website www.Tuscany.net and have actually reserved Fattoria Catignano - the Diavolicello Apt. and Castello di Poggiarello di Stigliano - La Casa Ventura

We rented a 4 bedrroom villa this past September from www.travel-italy.com and were well satisfied and would highly recommend them. Our villa was not within walking distance of a town.

For all things about rentals, including many excellent reviews, go to slowtrav.com I have said this many times, but it needs to be emphasized, there are 3 primary criteria for any rental: Location, price, location !

Don't discount something just because you can't find a review on it. This is what I was told here or possibly Slowtrav, can't remember exactly.
Don't get me wrong, I would much rather have had the added security of having read a review on the villa we stayed in, but all things being equal, the place sounded like the best choice for us even without a review.
I was freaking out because I rented it without being able to find ANYTHING positive or negative about it. It was listed on a zillion villa web sites, but no reviews. (I even tried to contact the local tourist office in Italy!) I was SOOO relieved to find that the place existed and it was lovely.

We used rentvillas.com two years ago (we rented a 3 bedroom villa near Montalcino - what a place!).
Suzanne and her staff are fantastic and are very upfront about the positives and negatives of each villa. It took the guesswork out of deciding location, ameneties, etc...
We wanted to be in a small hill town (near Brunello wineries) and our experience was second to none.
Good Luck in your search...
